Course objectives
Psychology of Personality The study yields an overview of contemporary theories on Psychology of Personality, and a concise structure of the known facts on the nature and dynamics of multilateral interactions of mental processes in all personality layers-from the elementary ones through the more complex functions and units of integration, all the way to the most complex ones-the Autonomous Self Directing and Self Reliance. At the end of the course student should be abble to describe personality structure and dynamics and will be familiar with personality assessment methods.
Syllabus
  • 1) Personality. The Theory of Personality. Models of Personality Layers. 2) Functions and abilities of orientation. Verbal and objective thinking. 3) Emotionality, temperament, and personality. 4) Personality and willpower. Frustrations, maladaptability, and frustrations' tolerance. 5) The role of the Long Term Memory and a role of studying for the development of personality. The importance of self study. 6) Forming of attitudes and their role in the Subject-Object Interaction. Attitudes and Empathy. 7) Rational-Social Aspects of a "Role" and their place in the realm of an individual's personality. 8) Awareness of a unique self individuality. Ways to self discovery. 9) An overview of an ever changing concept of human being. The nature of self identity, self reflection, and self evaluation of personality. 10) Self development of personality. Interests. Self worth, professional orientation and ambitions. 11) Education-culture for personal growth and knowledge. Cognitive Dissonance. Decision making and creativity. 12) Personal harmonization of/with "the World Picture." Importance of a personal awareness of the "World's and Life's Rules." 13) Values and their understanding. A purpose of life. Types of human character. 14) The Theory of Normality. The Aspects of Contentment and Satisfaction in life.Means and roles of a personality self cultivation. 15) Personality development.
