Course objectives
The excursion lasting three to ten days is focused on study of archaeological finds and relics on site, in museums and in depositories. The excursion also includes visits to archaeological institutions and contacts with local archaeologists and other specialists. The favoured region for excursion is Central Europe, especially the Czech Republic and the neighbouring countries.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the course, student will be able to:
- summarise the prehistoric and medieval development in the area of interest
- explain the connections between natural environment and economy in the selected area
- describe the most important archaeological localities in the area of interest
- determine the main phases of research in the selected area.
