Cíle předmětu
The course will look at the treatment of a number of issues covered by writers directly or indirectly related to the recently developing field of british Cultural Studies. These will include: national culture; consumer culture, Thatcherism, enterprise and heritage; feminism and femininty; sport and leisure; pop music,style,race and ethnicity; the royal family; popular fiction; television and related media. The aim will be to look at perspectives on these issues from different times during the last fifty years, though focusing primarily on recent developments. Among the writers whose work is considered are Benedict Anderson, Perry Anderson, Chas Critcher, John Fiske, Paul Gilroy, Stuart Hall, John Hartley,Dick Hebdige, Celia Lury, Tom Nairn, Raymond Williams and Judith Williamson.
