Course objectives
Prerequisite: Fiction Translation Via the Short Story I. Other stories, other translation problems, other approaches. A practical seminar in translation, this time focusing on the problems related to translation of culture and the concept of intertextuality. The full list of texts to be dealt with will be available by the enrolment period.
Syllabus (in Czech)
  • Kurz navazuje na Literární překlad prostřednictvím povídek 1. Jiné povídky, jiné překladatelské problémy, jiné přístupy. Praktický seminář překladu, zaměřený tentokrát na otázky překladu kulturních jevů a na koncept intertextuality. Seznam textů, jimiž se budeme zabývat, obdrží studenti před zahájením kurzu.
