Cíle předmětu
This year's course will look at approaches to relations between social, cultural and natural environments through consideration of a series of late twentieth century perspectives on these areas, namely those of Manauel Castells from a sociological perspective, Arran Gare from a an environmental and cultural theory perspective and T.S. Eliot, Edward Dorn and J.H. Prynne from a poetic perspective.
Výstupy z učení
Students who complete the course will be expected to have gained an appropriate level of understanding of the areas covered in terms of relations between relevant developments in computer technology, the media, the environment and related socio-economic factors, and as reflected in the analysis presented in the required essay.

The course will be taught by a combination of group and class discussion
Metody hodnocení
The course will be assessed in terms of oral contribution (40%) and essay (7-10 pages)(60%). essays should be submitted to my IS e-mail address.
