No prerequisites. Students of Baltic linguistics are not allowed to subscribe for this course.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The course gives the main knowledge of Lithuanian grammar for all those, who cannot attend the full program of Baltic studies. Lessons are widely open for everyone interested in the basics of Lithuanian language. The course is an "easier" variation of the main Lithuanian-courses. No knowledge of the Lithuanian needed at the beginning.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to greet and introduce oneself and the family, will use basic phrases, e. g. ask directions and describe them. Student also will be able to decline substantives and adjectives and conjugate verbs in indicative and imperative mood.

  • Lithuanian alfabet. Basics of the Lithuanian phonolgy. What does it meen a "free" accent in Lithuanian? How to introduce your self. Conversation topics: family, weather, shopping, meal etc.
