Course objectives

The lecture is devoted to the Czech literature of the National Revival period and the literature of the second half of 19th century. It is elementary course that will introduce students of the Czech for foreigners to the first century of Czech modern literature. After the graduating students will be able to understand and explain main features of the Czech literature in this period and they will be prepared to take part in the lecture CJQ021 (Czech literature of the 19th century II).

Syllabus

• The course is devoted to overview the specific features of this period in the Czech literature (in consideration of students skills and knowledge). The main features of the Czech literature in 19th century will be explained. We will pay attention to contemporary specificity of the literary production (in language and style).
