The subject follows the subject CLDS_a21 Seminar for PhD students IV. The course is primarily intended for students of specialization in the Historic languages of the Czech land.

Course objectives
Course aims:
- further enhancement of the student's skills and knowledge in connection with the focus of the seminar on problems of intertextuality and interdisciplinarity;
- demonstration of the ability of practical application of the said principles when working with specific materials;
- gradual enhancement of the student's skills and knowledge within the thematic scope of the specialization Medieval Languages;
- application of the skills and knowledge acquired in the wider framework of the specialization, on particular issues of the dissertation thesis.
Learning outcomes
After the completion of the course, the student shall:
- acquire skills and methods that are adequate for literary-theoretical research in the field of Medieval Studies in connection with the focus of the seminar on problems of intertextuality and interdisciplinarity;
- check their command of the said methods by working with specific material that is related to their dissertation topic;
- boost their knowledge and competence within the thematic scope of the specialization Medieval Languages;
- apply the skills and knowledge acquired in the wider framework of the specialization, on particular issues of the dissertation thesis.
Syllabus
  • The student is to master the principles of the Theory of Medieval Literature; to this end, they shall choose a corpus of texts from the sources that are related to their doctoral thesis, and shall analyze them; this shall be followed by individual work.
