The subject follows the subject CLDS_a23 Seminar for PhD students VII. The course is primarily intended for students of specialization in the Historic languages of the Czech land.

Course objectives

Course aims:
- to make use of the knowledge acquired in the course of the studies when creating the thesis concepts;
- to choose a methodology in accordance to the dissertation's focus;
- to defend the chosen methodology in a discussion;
- to work towards a definite version of the text.

Learning outcomes

After the completion of the course, the student shall:
- make use of the knowledge acquired in the course of their study;
- work individually when creating their dissertation's concept;
- present solutions to specific problems, as well as to the dissertation as a whole;
- argue competently about their own or other students' work in a discussion.

Syllabus

• This seminar shall guide the student towards creating a definitive version of their dissertation thesis; the students shall present specific issues in their work, or their final conclusions; on the forum of the specialization in Medieval Studies, the students shall be discussing their own, and their colleagues' works.
