Course objectives
The course is dealing with theatre besides its aestetics borders. It concerns with theatre phenomena included in festivities, rituals, plays/games and other public cultural performances.

The course is inteded for first year students of DTS and it is mandatory for them.
The seminar is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar student will be able to:
- define basic theories of non-aesthetic functions of the theatre;
- understand each of disscused concepts;
- work with proper terminology based on reading of chosen parts of primary texts and debatesin class.
