Course objectives
The seminar is dealing with the question: why to stage historically distant text? It's trying to gain an overview over the staging of plays by Ludvig Holberg in the Czech lands at the same time. This work will be closely connected to the production of relating articles at Czech Wikipedia.
Each student will first write and publish selected part of the wikipedia entry. As a next step each student will analyse selected Czech production of Holberg's play. The work in the course anticipates research in the Theatre Institute (Information and Documentation Department), eventualy in Theatre department of National Muzeum or the archives of respective theatres.

Profiled seminar intended for second year students.
The seminar is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes

At the end of the seminar student will be able to:
- elaborate on Holberg's works and on their historical and social context;
- dramaturgicly interpret not contemporary drama;
- work with Czech Wikipedia and create an adequate entry for it;
- independetly research diffenrent theatre archives and institutions.
