the knowledge of the fundamental encyclopaedias, scholarly journals and field literature, main editions of the sources important for the ancient history
Syllabus
  • 1) The importance of the study of the Antiquity for the modern society
  • 2) The review of literature regarding the history of the Near East, familiarization with the main periodicals in our country and in the world, the most important scientific institutions dealing with the history and culture of the Near East
  • 3) The review of literature regarding the history of Greece, familiarization with the main periodicals in our country and in the world, the most important scientific institutions dealing with the history and culture of Greece
  • 4) The review of literature regarding the history of Rome, familiarization with the main periodicals in our country and in the world, the most important scientific institutions dealing with the history and culture of Rome
  • 5) The familiarization with the geography of the ancient world using an interactive map
  • 6) The familiarization with the geography of the ancient world using an interactive map
  • 7) The familiarization with the libraries in Brno (libraries of the ÚKS, ÚKFF, MZK)
  • 8) The antiquity on the Internet (The databases of the ÚKS)
  • 9) The editions of the ancient sources
  • 10) The methods of quoting ancient sources in the foot-notes and in bibliographies
