Na konci kurzu se bude student schopen orientovat v topografii Martova pole v Římě v období raného principátu a získá dobrý vhled do problematiky římské císařské propagandy.

  • 1. Augustův principát: politický režim, ideologie, sociální realita (včetně úvodu k období občanských válek po smrti Iulia Caesara)
  • 2. Augustus a římské náboženství: Octavianova politická mythologie, Apollónův kult a Octavianův božský patron
  • 3. Augustovské stavby na Martově poli: Augustovo mauzoleum, Augustovo horologium/meridianum solarium, Augustovo ustrinum, Ara Pacis, Pantheon Marka Agrippy
  • 4. Prvky augustovského umění: případová studie: Ara Pacis. Závěr.
