Course objectives
In the seminary the student will improve his/her work with ancient sources, narrative and juristic, regarding their specifics and difficulties.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be capable to independently evaluate the sources, which he/she will use in his/her scientific work, and choose a suitable method of approach; the student will be able to choose proper sources for his/her work and to process them critically.
Syllabus
  • The seminary will have the form of individual or group consultations of topics and sources, chosen according to specialization of the student's M. A. diploma (minor) thesis. It is possible to choose between the history of the ancient Near East, India, China, Greece, Rome, and the intermediate period between Antiquity and Middle Ages.
Literature
  • Literatura je předepsána individuálně podle studentovy specializace.
  • The literature is prescribed individually according to the student's specialization.
Teaching methods
Reading and interpretation of assigned sources, individual study of literature, consultations.
Assessment methods
Fulfillment of ongoing tasks, final colloquium.
