Introduction into European painting of the 19th century.

Syllabus

1. Introduction into European painting of the 19th century: transformation of function of art, time definition, main style streams - classicism, romanticism, realism, naturalism, impressionism.
2. Classicism, Romanticism and Orientalism in French painting.
3. German Romanticism and the Nazarenes.
4. English Landscape-Painting, the painters of Barbizon.
5. Francisco de Goya.
6. Realism and naturalism.
7. French impressionism.
8. Postimpressionism, the birth of the modern art.
