Course objectives
Johann Santini-Aichl and Christopher Dientzenhofer were of the leading architects of the Central European Baroque - in its radical branch. While the significance of the first of them is clearly recognized in the Art history, disputes about his authorship are breaking out around the second name from time to time. The classic manifestation of the earlier -Brno- contradiction (ie. Santini contra Dientzenhofer ) developed among pupils Vaclav Richter.
The lecture will connect the approaches - classically formal- analytical, methodological and function-receptive now, so that we can bring to the problem again, but with regard to new knowledge than ever before.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to:
- be familar with the topic;
- identify, describe and compare past and current approaches to the topic;
