Course objectives
The course deals with the development of the Czech theatre from the end of the 19th century till the twenties of the 20th century, when the Czech theatre - thanks to the directors Jaroslav Kvapil and Karel Hugo Hilar, who were able to enter into relations with the European trends - becomes an equivalent partner, of the development in the other European countries.

  • The conception of theatre by Jaroslav Kvapil and work of this director in 1900 - 1920 in the National Theatre Prague. The foundation fo the Municipal Theatre in Prague- Královské Vinohrady, the stagings of K. H.
