Course objectives
The course is dealing with the forms and changes of Italian Commedia dell'Arte, acting with the mask and concept of a drama character inspired by masks in the chosen periods of Europian theatre. The course defines specific forms of acting influenced by Commedia dell’Arte through the video-records of European and Czech performances (Antonio Fava, Giorgio Strehler, Jacques Lecoq, Divadlo na provázku, Hubert Krejčí). • • The course is held in Czech.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course student will be able to: • - define periods of history of Commedia dell’Arte; • - define its influences on European theatre culture from the 16th century up today (Italian Commedia dell’Arte, its French branch, inspiring influence in the period of modernism and avant-garde, and contemporary conceptions of acting with the mask); • - prove knowledge of the most important performances of commedia dell'Arte throught 20th century.
