Course objectives
Theatre science - the history of the branch, its methods and important person alities, basic literature. Vocabularies, theatrical periodicals, annuals, national and foreign theatrical organisations. Work with theatrical archive materials: the systém of archives i the Czech Republic, principles of material storage, introduction to auxiliary historical sciences. Basic instruction on textual criticism. Literary genres. Theatrical material stored by institutions in Brno (visits with expert commenaties) and a one-day trip to theatrics units in Prague (the Theatrical Institute, the theatrical department of the National Museum, the archives of the National Theatre).
