- Course objectives
- On succesful completion of the course student will be able to analyze a set of typical themes and ways of expression in Shakespeare's dramaturgy, with the regard to a given dramatic moment and personal characteristic. Course improves student's ability of reading and interpreting.
- Syllabus
- The themes of forgiveness and miracle lie in the very core of Shakespeare's dramaturgy. The course will analyze a set of its typical uses with a regard to a given dramatic moment and personal characteristic. In Histories (R2 - I,1, IV,1; H4 - IV,3; V,5; H5- II,2, H6 part II. III,3; part 3 II,6, R3- III,7; V,5) In Comedies (Two Gentlemen V,4; As You Like It V,4; All's Well V,3; Measure II,2; II,4; III,1, III,2) In Tragedies (Hamlet III,3; Lear IV,6; V,3; Julius Caesar III,1; Othello II,3; IV,2; V,2; Macbeth V,1; Antony IV,10; Coriolanus V,3; V,6. In Romances (Cymbeline V,5; Winter's Tale; Tempest V,1).

- Every lecture requires homework preparation in reading the assigned study literature. After teacher's presentation of the general and particular features of the subject, students are guided to interpretation of the chosen extracts, and class discussions follow.
