Course objectives
The course is a practical familiarization of students with realia of a selected Central-European region, its historical, ethnical and cultural development, and with documents of cultural heritage in situ and in memory institutions. It also focuses on the description of the current status of life in the region, and on the familiarization of students with the activity of institutions taking part in the documentation, care and presentation of cultural heritage and in preservation of cultural heritage.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course students should be able to identify and analyze the manifestations of traditional culture in the field.

  • 1. Visits to ethnographic exhibitions, open-air museums, artistic and cultural monuments.
  • 2. Watching traditional ways of living.
  • 3. Making contacts with universities
  • 4. Getting to know the lives of compatriots.
