Course objectives
The lectures will present the textile production connected with the Central European civil society in terms of the production process and the application of textiles in the creation of garments or home textiles. Part of the lectures is therefore also devoted to textile decoration techniques. The aim of the lectures is to prepare the students for independent study of traditional textile production and clothing culture. Students will acquire the ability to apply knowledge and interpret, analyze and evaluate the subject of their studies in terms of time, production or artistic expression.
Learning outcomes
After passing the lectures the student will be able to: apply knowledge in the identification of textile objects and clothing components of an ethnographic character; identify and analyze the material composition of textile products; identify and analyze textile decoration techniques; compare art concepts of decorative techniques from different production lines; to apply knowledge in museum practice or in a separate professional or expert practice.

lectures, study of iconographic documents, study of textiles from collections of museums and private collections, videopresentation of techniques
Assessment methods
a written test consisting of factual questions and a complementary practical part with the knowledge and description of a particular textile demonstration. The additional portion is counted only in the case of a positive spot score in the overall score.
