- Course objectives
- The course focuses on the acquisition of theoretical pre-conditions and practical experience with the digitization of documentary materials of ethnographic nature, its “passportization” and content analysis.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students will be able to explain the questions of digitalization in current memory institutions and describe the history of Česká národopisná společnost (Czech Ethnological Society) with emphasis on its documentation activities. They will be able to propose scientific utilization of ČNS archives and perform digitalization practically (classification of materials, digitalization, description, systematization).

- 1. Definition of terms.
- 2. Digitalization in the field of cultural heritage preservation, inc. information regarding realized projects.
- 3. The history of the Czech Ethnological Society.
- 4. The net of correspondents and the archives of the Czech Ethnological Society – conditions necessary for their utilization and digitalization.
- 5. Procedures of the digitalization of materials from the Czech Ethnological Society archives.
- 6. Practical digitalization of materials from the Czech Ethnological Society archives.
- 7. Writing a seminar paper on the basis of information contained in archive materials from the Czech Ethnological Society.
