The course is devoted to the contemporary folklore repertoire with emphasis on so-called „modern“ folklore genres transmitted on the territory of the Czech Republic compared with wider European and global context. Main attention is paid to genres of contemporary (urban) legend, rumour (gossip), joke, anecdote and children scary narratives. Attention is also paid to non-orally folklore genres such as writtten folklore, office folklore and folklore forms transmitted via e-mail and internet.
