Course objectives
Film analysis. The Seminar is related to the course Introduction to Film Studies. Course objectives: deep understanding of the basic principles of film form, narrative and style, and an ability to analyze them. At the end of the course student should: - understand basics of how film industry and culture function - understsand the key concepts of neoformalist aesthetics of film - be able to analyze film narrative and style using neoformalist method - be able to express findings of the analysis in an original and clearly structured essay, where each argument is based on concrete example
