Course objectives
The link between literature and myth presents several definitory questions. The definitory conceptions of the myth determine specific approaches of the criticism (in afterwar France: psychoanalytical criticism, psychocriticism, mythocriticism, structuralism, etc.). This will be the theoretical starting point for the analysis of the myth and mytholocigal elements - should they be mere hypotexts or sophisticated literary mythopoietic procedures. The theoretical part of the course will be completed by the analysis of concrete texts (Decoin, Le Clézio, Tristan, Tournier, etc.).
