Course objectives

Survey of French literature from its origins to 18th century. Principal periods, authors and works.

Syllabus (in Czech)

1. Středověká literatura (chansons de geste, dvorská lyrická poezie a dvorský román, básně s pevným uspořádáním, literatura měšťanské inspirace, středověké divadelní žánry). 2.Renesanční myšlení a kultura francouzské renesance(vznik nových žánrů, Plejáda). 3.Ohlas baroka v literatuře. 4.Doktrína klasicismu a jeho hlavní představitelé. 5.Problematika osvícenství 18. století, racionalistické myšlení doby a dědictví klasicismu.
