Course objectives

Survey of French literature from the 18th century to our time. Principal periods, authors and works.

Syllabus (in Czech)

1. Romantismus jako nová estetika, drama, poezie a próza v 1.pol.19. stol. 2.Od realismu k naturalismu a experimentálnímu románu. 3. Vývoj poezie v 2. pol. 19. stol. (parnasismus, symbolismus, začátky moderní poezie). 4. Próza na počátku 20. století a vznik moderního románu. 5.Nové směry, poezie a próza mezi dvěma světovými válkami (surrealismus). 6.Existencialismus a literatura. 7.Próza, poezie a drama v 2. polovině 20. století.
