Course objectives
The goal of this course is to make students acquainted with the backgrounds of a linguist´s work in a terrain and of a consequent methods of analysis of such a linguistic and metalinguistic corpus datas. The students should be able to define his own hypothesis, realize both quantitative and qualitative analysis of corpus datas. When presentitng his results, her or she should be able to interprete them correctly, with a relevant support of citation. At the end of this course, students will be able to lead and analyse independently an interview or a questionary in the terrain, in terms of sociolinguistics methods of research. He or she will be able to justify and bring serious arguments to support his or her thesis and the hole work should form a logical suit of units.

Teaching methods
Exposition and definitions of basic terms and their application on own corpus datas. During their presentations students show their ability to interconnect on their own their theoretical knowledge and practical analysis of an authentic text.
Assessment methods
Student can be accepted on colloquium only if he or she shows an active participation and attendence (80%) and after an oral presentation of written work where he or she shows his or her ability to collect an oral corpus data, to analyze and to interpretate it in regards to his or her hypothesis.
