Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with opportunities to gain rich experience, both in traditional and less common forms of teaching (catch-up clasess, tutorials, assistance, excursions, teaching and motivation programs). Emphasis will also be placed on newteaching forms in progress (specific forms of e-learning, distance learning in a virtual environment with IT use, etc.).
Learning outcomes
Students recive practical experience with direct teaching.
After graduation the student is able to:
- identify the type of audience and adjust the learning method,
- develop an individual training plan
- evaluate the level of knowledge of learners in foreign language and recommend appropriate means for improvement in specific language competencies.
Due to the wide range of teachers' training, students will be fully prepared for both less common forms of full-time teaching and new progressive teaching forms.
Syllabus
  • - Entrance consultation with teachers' training mentor from the host institution
  • - visits and observation
  • - tandem teaching, tutorials, catch-up classes
  • - indenedent teaching with mentor's feedback
  • - workshop - casuistic
  • - evaluation workshop (analysis, self-reflection)
  • Distribution of practice hours:
  • 1) 360 hours of preparation and tasks (in the framework of Seminars on Educational Practice I and II)
  • • practice diary, assignments and others.
  • 2) 360 hours directly at the school (within the subject Teaching Practice I and II)
  • • 100 hours of teaching (self, tandem, group, teacher assistance, tutoring)
  • • 260 hours of other activities (listening, help with correcting written works, creating teaching aids, accompanying pupils to excursions, preparing school projects, attending class meetings, helping with school / class documentation, classroom lessons, substitution etc.)

Teaching methods
Teacher training is realized under supervision of experienced teachers in concertained schools. Content sof training: written prepared materials presented to the teacher, analysis of the teaching outcome, oral presentation.
Assessment methods
Credit - for attended auditions and teachings confirmed by the school. Form: Project, portfolio, discussion.
