Course objectives
The course deals with one of the most important areas of political culture of the 19th and 20th centuries. It aims at clarifying clerical and anti-clerical social tendencies in the European context and interpreting them as instruments for the development of modern ideologies and party systems. The emphasis will be put on the difference between reality and construed „images of reality“. At the end of the course the students will be able to interpret key concepts, understand relevant Czech and foreign literature and choose an appropriate method for academic study and discussion of the topic.
