Course objectives
By examining narrative and diplomatic sources this course course aims to answer the following questions:
How did the world appear to a Central European round about the jubilee year of 1300?
How did this picture of the world differ according to a person’s place in society?
How were people’s perceptions of the world shaped by whether they came from the town or countryside?
How did a person from the Czech Middle Ages view the East,West, North and South?
