Course objectives
The course will deal with the opera libretto and music score, setting up of the dramaturgical plan and dramaturgical analysis etc. Part of the course will be a projection of several opera production, visit of the dramaturgical office of the Janáček Opera in the National Theatre in Brno and a lecture of a professional opera dramaturgist.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to to analyze the dramaturgy of, for example, Janacek Brno to create a simple dramaturgy plan

  • 1. Analysis of the idea of the opera dramaturgy, history of the opera dramaturgy
  • 2. Work with the opera text, work on the dramaturgical plan and dramaturgical analysis
  • 3. Presentation of the student dramaturgical plan and dramaturgical analysis
