Course objectives
The course is continuation of Practical Italian I-II with further enhacing the communication skills and the theoretical knowledge of the students, orientation in continuous oral and written text. The intput language competence corresponds to CEFR: A2. The output language competence corresponds to CEFR: B1.
Learning outcomes
The students will learn advanced comunication in the language; will be able to understand and react to complex question; will learn grammar and lexis corresponding to CEFR B1.
Syllabus
  • The course further develops and enhances knowledge acquired in the courses Jazykový seminár I an II such as grammar, vocabulary and communicative skills. During the course students will work with audiovisual materials, texts containing information about italian culture and society and authentic text with language level appropriate to the student's lingustic skills. The oral communication skills with be developed with the focus on the promptness and vocabulary abundance, the written comunication skils will be developed with the focus on the accurate and correct use of the language. Written essays on designated themes will be assigned to the students in the course of the seminar. The student will also read a book by Italian author written in Italian (not a translation into Italian from another language). The book musn't be older than from the 2nd half of the 20th century. From 50 pages of the book the student excerpts all unknown vocabulary. Afterward the student´s comprehension of a text in foreign language and knowledge of new vocabulary and phraseology will be examined.

Teaching methods
Seminar, additional excercises, listening and writing exercises, reading of a book in Italian.
Assessment methods
Attendance is compulsory. Assessment: written test, with grammar features and vocabulary from the lessons. The written essays and reading are compulsory.
