Course objectives
The course is continuation of Practical Italian III with further enhacing the communication skills and the theoretical knowledge of the students and their understanding of continuous spoken or written texts. At the end of the course the student will be fully prepared to take the Proficiency Test in Italian Language (IJ1A054). The intput language competence corresponds to CEFR: B1. The output language competence corresponds to CEFR: B2.
Learning outcomes
The students will learn fluent comunication in the Italian language; will be able to formulate coherent ideas concerning their field of study; will be able to understand longer spoken texts in foreign language, such as radio transmissions, films, lecture; will be able to read an contemporary prosaic text in Italian; will be able to write a connected text on any topic; will learn grammar and lexis corresponding to CEFR B2.
Syllabus
  • The course further develops and enhances knowledge acquired in the courses Jazykový seminář I -III such as grammar, complex syntatical structures, work with text - comprehension of oral and written forms of comunication, resumes etc.). Particular focus is dedicated to the skills training leading to successful performation at the Proficiency Test in Italian Language (IJ1A054) at the end of the 3rd year. The student will also read a book by Italian author written in Italian (not a translation into Italian from another language). The book musn't be older than from the 2nd half of the 20th century. From 50 pages of the book the student excerpts all unknown vocabulary. Afterward the student´s comprehension of a text in foreign language and knowledge of new vocabulary and phraseology will be examined.
