Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the management of projects of information and communication technology and information systems (ICT/IS). ICT/IS in organizations serves to meet strategic goals in the organization. Proper specification of ICT and IS requirements in an institution is a prerequisite for successful implementation of the solution and for meeting the requirements for return on investment in ICT/IS. Student will be familiarized with basic principles of system analysis, enterprise architecture building and ICT services management. Practically acquire the use of software tools for creating diagrams (especially UML) and for project management.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, student will be able to:
- able to apply the principles of ICT/IS project management in the organization;
- able to process the tender dossier in accordance with the requirements of the ICT/IS service organization;
- able to practically analyze the organization's environment to implement an information system or ICT service;
- able to manage the implementation process and the subsequent evaluation of information systems or ICT services;
- able to work with tools for UML modeling and project management

  • 1) Frameworks for project management in ICT International Project Management Association (IPMA), Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), Projects in Controlled Environment (PRINCE2), Managing Successful Programs (MSP), ISO 10006 Guidelines for Project Quality Management;
  • 2) Frameworks for managing information and application services Business Information Services Library (BiSL), Application Services Library (ASL);
  • 3) Information Technology Services (ITSM) Key concepts in ITSM, Significant frameworks and standards in ITSM and their relationship, Standard ISO 20000 Information Technology - Service Management, Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), The FitSM Standard, Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT);
  • 4) Project management software Project plan, project task, project resources and their tracking, project calendars, monitoring the actual course of the project through guideline and auxiliary plans, MS Project Reports and Reports, Working with Multiple Projects;
  • 5) Enterprise Architecture Development of the Enterprise Architecture Concept, Organizational Structure, Information Strategy, The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Other Frameworks for Business Architecture Description;
  • 6) System analysis Business Process Modeling, Unified Modeling Language (UML), Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN), ARIS (Architecture of Integrated Information Systems) methodology, ArchiMate, IDEF (Integrated Definition Methods) family;
  • 7) Business analysis of BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) Key concepts of business analysis, Planning and management of analysis, Collection of requirements and cooperation, Requirements lifecycle, Strategic analysis, Requirement analysis and design solution, Evaluation of solution design, Basic competencies, Techniques, Perspectives;
