Course objectives
Etruscans in the context of Ancient World Social structure of Etruruia, themetoikoi. Economy, warfare, Dress and feasts, Sports, Etruscan religion, its particularities, Etruscans and the north. sculpture, portrait realism and stylization, Etruscan crafts.

  • The origin of the Etruscans and their cultural ties to the Orient, periods and characteristics of Etruscan culture, urbanistic and engineering works, their ties with ritual, construction materials and methods, burial architecture; pictorial art, its ties with cults and burial rites, Etruscan painting: monumental and vase, the development ofThe origins of the Etruscans, Villanovan Etruria, Etruscan cities, Etruscan federation, Etruscands in Campania and in the Po valley, Crisis of the 5th century
