Course objectives
The students will get informed about the development of ancient greek architecture in this course. Chronological boarders of the theme are the first monuments of the Aegean architecture at one side and the period of Augustus on the other side. Ancient greek architecutre includes the buildings in Greece and Aegean islands, as well as the territory of the greek civilisation in Asia, south Italy and Sicily. It is spread to the whole hellenistic territory in its later phase. At the end of this course the students should achieve the global knowledge of the evolution of official and domestic Greek architecture and its monuments from the aegean period to the augustan stage in principal territories where Greek culture flourished.
