Prerequisites
Computer literacy at the user level. Ability to work with the Internet, curiosity, ability to work independently and the desire to seek solutions independently. The course is particularly suitable for undergraduate students.

Course objectives
The aim of the course is to develop your information literacy, especially with regard to study, professional and professional development. This means briefly from information retrieval, through study, research to the creation of text.
 We will focus on six areas
We will think about what authority means - professional, professional, and how to evaluate the information resources you will encounter. We will show that creation (seminars, blog,…) is a creative process, but not linear. Let us consider the value of information for personal development, education, profit and the importance of sharing resources, which is also student work. We will look at research as a process of finding answers to questions of self-curiosity and social significance. Let's take a look at the fact that science is also on social networks and communication is one of its foundations. We will try to googling and searching is a process of expanding your own horizons and a gateway to new knowledge.

Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
  • find the right places to find information
  • effectively search professional databases to find quality resources for their work,
  • choose keywords well
  • correctly quote to increase the value of your work,
  • better write academic papers
  • critically assess which resource is appropriate for the need,
  • choose the appropriate form of publishing and self-presentation,
  • think about selected topics of work with information in a broader social context.

    Teaching methods (in Czech)
    Kurz je plně distanční s dvoutýdenní periodicitou. V prvním týdnu studujete články na webu kisk.phil.muni.cz/kpi a plníte úkol v informačním systému (IS MUNI). Druhý týden dáváte zpětnou vazbu spolužákovi v kurzu a snažíte se poučit ze zpětné vazby, kterou jste sami získali. Pro absolvování úkolu je třeba splnit všech šest úkolů, online test, závěrečnou práci v podobě kratší seminární práce.

    Distance online course, comprised of 10 theme modules. For succesful course conclusion, students have to: - fulfil continuous written homeworks and tests - pass a final written homework and test
