Course objectives
The aim of the course is: - to use the acquired knowledge of the Classical Greek normative grammar while reading the New Testament; - to improve the ability of students to search for and use by themselves the auxiliary literature while reading and interpreting Greek text (commentaries, translations, databases, dictionaries etc.).
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course, students will be able to make a grammatical analysis, a translation and an interpretation of the New Testament on a high level.

  • Reading the New Testament: the student is obligated to read at least one Gospel according to his own choice.
  • Grammatical analysis, a translation and an interpretation of the New Testament.
  • Analysis of the problematic places in selected parts of the New Testament.

Teaching methods
The course is being taught in the form of individual consultations based on student's individual reading.
Assessment methods
The course ends with an oral exam. In order to be awarded credits, students have to demonstrate the ability of correct interpretation and translation of a selected part of the New Testament.
