Course objectives
The course is focused on the study of several subjects within the Chinese linguistics. The main idea is the introduction of various linguistic disciplines that study relevant language phenomena. The course gives the student a necessary terminological context for a discussion about themes of different aspects of the Chinese language. The course is organized as lectures: the theoretical part is composed of basic characteristics of linguistic disciplines (phonology, lexicology, grammar lexicography), component themes (parts of speech, traditional philology, Chinese syllable, dialects) an others. The practical part is composed of presentations of selected subjects followed by a discussion. Different exemplary reading will be applied to clarify the themes.
