- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to give students a detailed insight into chosen piece of Ancient literature through its adaptation for public reading in frame of the international festival Latin Grec organized by the University of Lyon (http://festival-latingrec.eu/) and to let them maintain personal experience with such a performance and popularization.
- Learning outcomes
- The student having passed the course will be able:
- to talk eruditely about the author and plot of the chosen piece,
- to explain importance of the piece in the context of Ancient literature,
- to characterize the specificity of adapting a literary work for public reading,
- to evaluate public readings' contribution to popularization of classical studies. - Syllabus
- In 2021, the public reading will take place on 26th and 27th March. Apuleius' Metamorphoses have been chosen for this year, again. In Brno, we are going to participate by reading the tale Lucius' trial, which is going to be recorded in advance and broadcasted on 27th March.
