Course objectives
The main aims of the course are:
- the elementary understanding of Virgil's text - student is able to read and translate selected passages of Virgil's text
- time, cultural and literary context, literary examples and the subsequent tradition of the text - student has a thorough knowledge of them

Seminars, 1½ hours per week. Class discussions.
Assessment methods
Seminar. Credit. To earn the credit, active participation during the sessions as well as ability to translate, to read metrically and to interpret the text (on elementary level) is required - oral examination.

Information on completion of the course: Studenti, kteří mají v kombinaci s latinou obor klasický řecký jazyk a literatura, a studenti jednooborové klasické filologie ukončují předmět zkouškou!

Credit evaluation note: Pro studenty magisterského studia platí počet kreditů 3. Pro studenty doktorského studia (latinská medievistika) platí počet kreditů 10.
