Course objectives
Synchronic linguistics: the sign nature and the systematic nature of language, phonetics and phonology, morphology, grammatical categories, syntax, lexicology and semantics; diachronic and comparative linguistics: the typology of languages, the Indo-European branch. phonological developments and sound rules, Indo-European word roots, the development of flexation, semantic changes, the development of lexicons, etymology.
Syllabus
