Gaining the appropriate number of credit points in M. A. study of the Latin Language and Literature. Enrollment into the Master of Arts Final Thesis Seminar.

Course objectives
The student chooses the theme of his Master of Arts Final Thesis (in cooperation with the head teacher of the course) from the Czech or European medieval (or patristic) Latin literature. The teacher also names the head-consultant of the M. A. Final Thesis. Upon completion of this course, students have demonstrated their ability to implement a research plan on a specific topic and present the results in a written form meeting the standards of academic discourse.

  • The synopsis depends on the theme of the M. A. Final Thesis.
  • Generally: search for the literature;
  • search in the sources;
  • working on partial problems;
  • formulation of each chapter;
  • working on notes and supplements;
  • list of the literature and sources.

The course takes place in the form of individual consultations with the thesis supervisor according to the needs of a student.
Assessment methods
Credit for this course is awarded by the thesis supervisor based on his/her evaluation of the student’s progress in writing the M.A. Final Thesis.
