Course objectives
The seminar follows the course "Texts and methods I," offering the students more profound insight into the philosophical and cultural background of the methods and interpretation approaches studied within the course. The lessons will further include critical analysis of theoretical texts and in-class interpretation of particular literary and artistic texts.
Learning outcomes
Having attended the seminar, students will be able to:
- understand various methodological approaches to text, and to perform critical evaluation of these methodologies,
- consider the particular methods and interpretation approaches in broader philosophical, aesthetic and cultural context,
- apply theoretical resources on selected texts,
- understand current issues within the humanities,
- utilise acquired methods in their own multidisciplinary research.
