Prerequisites
The prerequisite for the PhD exam is the safe knowledge of German literary history and literary theory, terminology, specific methods and the most important current issues, taking into account the history of philological research and the professional reflection of related thematic areas. Detailed overview of professional disciplines related to the dissertation topic. Ability to critically assess the theoretical background and practical applicability of individual concepts reflecting the chosen problem.

Course objectives
The aim is to examine German literary history and literary theory, terminology, specific methods and the most important current issues, taking into account the history of philological research and professional reflection of related thematic areas. It also examines a detailed overview of professional disciplines related to the dissertation theme, the ability to critically assess the theoretical basis and the practical applicability of individual concepts reflecting the chosen problem.
Learning outcomes
The student will be able to process a highly specialized topic in an adequate way.
