Cílem přednášky je základní seznámení s principy a metodami etymologie a jejich aplikace na indoevropské jazyky se zvláštním důrazem na češtinu a jiné jazyky slovanské.

  • 1. Co je etymologie? 2. Etymon, etymologický význam. 3. Deetymologizace. 4. Historickosrovnávací metoda 5. Ie. vokalismus a konsonantismus. 6. Laryngální teorie. 7. Elementární příbuznost. 8. Metoda "Wörter und Sachen". 9. Kalky. 10. Princip sémantických paralel a analogického vývoje. 11. Lidová, bakalářská etymologie. 12. Sémantické změny. 13. Tabu, tabuová antifráze, noa.
