Cíle předmětu
Special tasks deserve special forms of organization. In the case of high-performance (risk) undertakings in extreme outdoor sports, economy, humanitarian projects and so forth, it is common practice to reflect on team processes and structures. Soon in their education then students of PANE will take part in a fully-developed excavation project in SW-Asia. This course serves as a hands-on-training for teaming, proactive communication, transparent work organization & group learning (job-practical education).
Osnova
  • During the course the students will get familiar with the general topic (developmental part). They will consult popular literature on team building and management. In discussions they will be encouraged to compare the models proposed in literature and will get acquainted with those elements which are applicable to modern archaeological projects with expedition character.

Výukové metody
The experiential baseline for all participants is created by entrusting the students with the full organization of an 3 days-stay abroad (life in an experimental-archaeological open-air parks) .The students themselves establish communications among themselves, shape the logistics of travel & stay abroad & determine the interaction with the hosts. These processes are surveyed by 3 x 2h class sessions with the students. In the camp (sleep-over in reconstructed huts – moderate stressor) the students themselves structure the necessary tasks & routines. At regular intervals detailed feedback & encouragement is given to the group via plena, the first one reflecting on travel performance. Other focus on logistic improvements, activities etc. Acting in front of one another & acting as an entity is triggered either by small experimental-archaeological trials, doing handy crafts, other collective impromptu activities as well as popular team-building games. Every student also does a short presentation at the open air facility, based on consult popular literature on team building and management. In the ensuing discussions students will be encouraged to collectively identify those elements which seem advantageous for archaeological projects with expedition character.
