Course objectives
After passing the seminar a student should be able to prepare a complete electronic document (a thesis, a scientific paper, slides for presentation, ...) of high quality which meets all basic typographic principles and rules using typographical system TeX (LaTeX). He (she) should be knowledgeable of typographical terms, able to prepare and correct general textual electronic document for printing.

Motivation, origins, development, main principles. b. Installation, getting to work. c. LaTeX's basics. d. Simple typesetting. e. Mixed typesetting. f. Paragraph typesetting. g. Document structures. h. Tables. i. Graphics. j. Automatically generated parts of documents (tables of contents, citations, indices, atd.). k. Complete document (an article, a thesis). l. Digital presentation.

Teaching methods
Practically and theoretically oriented presentations combined with exercises in a computer class. In case of bigger interest, the teaching will be organised into several seminar classes.
Assessment methods
Written exam (test) in course of semester. Final work (e.g. typesetting of a thesis) arranged individually. Minor homeworks. Tasks will be specified at the begining of semester.
